It’s that time of the year again!!
All year, I await the blooming of the pink and the purple beauties of spring time. I look forward to it in the same way someone might await a celestial phenomenon or a hugely popular festival or an important event -sporting /cultural/ traditional/ personal …you name it!
There are glimpses of these lovelies, on my commute to and from office. But the ones that are on the way from the dreaded Silk board junction towards HSR, always take the cake! Today’s post is all about the pink beauties on this stretch of the road, a wonder that is truly awe-inspiring and breathtaking!
Although a lot of colours come alive during spring time, what draws me so strongly to the pink ones here is probably their marked transience. The splendour is so short lived that one may miss it altogether if one is not paying attention!
One morning , about a week ago, as I drove towards my office after dropping my girl at school, I noticed these trees at the traffic junction, in all their pink glory. And I knew that the timing was just perfect! Since this is not part of my regular commute route, I parked the car near my office and then walked to the junction to take in the beauty…it was totally worth it!!
The trees lined up on both sides of the road were in full bloom and looked gorgeously splendid! In Kannada I would say ‘nodoke yeradu kaNNu saaladu’…roughly translates as -a pair of eyes are not enough to take in all this beauty…
Pictures don’t do justice to the splendour that was.. but here they are nevertheless ๐
Well, the craving is not satiated with one sighting right ? After a few days when I picked Ammu from school, I took that route to show her the beautiful view. Of course, we stopped and clicked more pics ๐
And, it continues. This unstoppable urge to click pics ๐ This tree (above) is on my way to office and one day I stopped by just to click pics of it ๐
No…I’m not done clicking yet. Just today, I clicked a few more of another tree near my office and will surely post them one of these days ๐

Biologically speaking, these trees belong to the genus Tabebuia under the family Bignoniaceae. Some species are used for timber and there are also known medicinal uses but Tabebuia is best known as an ornamental flowering plant. Rightly so!!

Loved the pictures, Priya and exactly like you, I also can’t stop clicking. These flowers make Bangalore lovely and I am glad you too showed me from HSR and your part of the city.
It’s beautiful how nature takes over in a good way and sometimes in not so good.
Stay safe, Priya and I am looking forward to seeing you back here tomorrow. Thank you for joining!

Thank you! We have been working from home since 2 weeks now and will be on lockdown for another 20 days , I’m guessing most of these will not be seen when we finally do get to venture out ๐
