A verdant landscape! #ThursdayTreeLove

Greenery all around… lush sugarcane fields as far as the eye could see! A cloudy day, not very hot or very humid… It felt like a lovely treat, bang in the middle of a work week in July!

A planned trip to Mysore for an urgent work, turned into a sort of impromptu one when a week long lockdown was announced in mid July. Luckily, I did not have loads of work and was able to get a day off on short notice. It felt like things just fell in place 🙂

The trip came as a welcome break from the long drawn ‘stay at home’ routine. Since we, BIL and me, were to be driving in our own car, we did not feel overly anxious about the travel. I had not visited Mysore since a couple of years and was super glad to go even though it was only to take care of some personal work.

As always, we took the detour towards the bird sanctuary, as that’s a shorter route to our destination in Mysore. This was a road that we’d travelled on umpteen times, especially when we lived in Mysore and on our trips to Mysore. There was not much traffic as expected, but we were glad to see a sugarcane juice vendor.

We had to make a quick stop as BIL wanted to make a call, and what better place than this! And, what better use of my time than taking in the beauty and capturing some of it in my mobile, to hold onto forever 🙂

The short break in the midst of nature seemed like a god-send, as the rest of the day went by in taking care of other work. Luckily, we were able to accomplish what we had set out to do even though it seemed improbable at first. Also, we got back home in time, before the lockdown commenced.

All in all, it was a good day and these beautiful pictures are here to remind me of this lovely break in the year 2020! 🙂

  1. I know this is Thursday Tree Love but I wanted to comment about the sugar cane. I’ve only seen it one time in my life (in our Southern state of Florida) it was blooming and I took a wild guess. That area of Florida grows a lot of sugar cane but it may be a long while before I may be able to return. Your post brought back a nice memory, though.
