In India, Neem tree has been a revered one through the ages. Granma used to tell us that Neem tree near the entrance of the house is very beneficial and that summers are made cooler by the sway of its branches 🙂
We dont live in an independent house and hence there was no scope to plant a Neem tree at our doorstep. However, a couple of years ago, the apartment association folks planted a couple of Neem saplings (with adequate protection) near the gates and that instantly reminded me of granma’s words! It has been a joy to see the plants grow and I’m surprised how tall they’ve become in one year!!
Here are a couple of pics that I took in the beginning of this year, while waiting with Ammu for her school bus to arrive. Love the play of the early morning sunlight…
This is my entry for the #ThursdayTreeLove blog hop hosted at Parul’s blog , on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Do join in, and/or hop over for a feast of tree pics 🙂
Those are saplings just planted a year ago? They really did grow quickly! I’m not familiar with neem trees except through Thursday Tree Love, as they are not hardy enough for the climate I live in.

I was breaking my head about yesterday’s post, after a long day. This skipped my mind. 😀
Good one, Priya. Neem is such a revered as well as scientifically beneficial tree. You are lucky to have them so close. 🙂

Thanks Swaru 🙂 You can still do a tree post and link…
Also, I was trying to schedule a post someday and realised we can back date a post! Not sure if its a bug, or its designed that way 😛 😀

Intended feature I think. It’s been possible.
That’s why I was wondering how I missed this post when I logged into the reader yesterday. 😀

Neem has so many benefits including the medicinal. And I loved your shots. The play of Sun light makes the leaves and branches look so good. Thank you for joining and I am glad you found this blog hop in 2019. I hope to see you around in 2020. The next edition will go live on 9th 🙂 Come back, Priya!
