Whenever asked to tell a story… Ammu would go… in one breath…

‘Once upon a time… hare and the tortoise decide to run a race. Hare told the tortoise that you are a very slow fellow and you cannot run a race with me. The race began. Hare took a nap. The tortoise went on and on and reached the winning post! Moral of the story is slow and steady wins the race’

I used to wonder if she ever understood what ‘moral of the story’ really is.

After Β many days of this repitition, apparently she got bored with the story.

And said ‘Once upon a time… hare and the tortoise decide to run a race. Hare told the tortoise that you are a very slow fellow and you cannot run a race with me. The race began. Hare did not toke a nap. He ran and reached the winning post! Moral of the story is you can win if you dont take a nap!’

I was amazed at how she deduced the ‘moral’ form the story that she narrated. Proves that we adults need to learn a lot… at least in terms of understanding the cute lil minds πŸ™‚

The next time… dad and me were asked to tell a story. Dad started *unable to immediately come up with anything else* Β ‘There was a biggg forest. And one hare and a tortoise who decided to run a race. They started running very fast…’

Ammu took over… ‘and fell down! then they went to the hospital. Again the hare started running fast and fell off. The tortoise ran slowly and reached the winning post. Moral of the story is we can win even if we fall down! …the words had just flowed … there was not much thought…

Dad and me were just stumped! too overwhelmed for words!! As for her she didnt realize the emotions that we were filled with… was just beaming, knowing that we were thrilled!!!
