Wet!! wet through n through :)
For this week’s theme ‘Wet’ at Thursday Challenge!
The pics were taken by the person who was our companion cum guide in Ghatikallu. He is a photography enthusiast, esp nature photography is his forte I believe. He was kind enough to capture some very beautiful shots for us
So while we were having a gala time in this private waterfall in their area, we didnt have to bother about the pics
He clicked and shared a lot of awesome high res pics for us to show off
What we did…
… this summer
Drawing, painting, make believe stories, doll play, walks , visits to the temple…
Ice creams, fruits, jellies and all her favourite foods…
The summer vacations are almost over… just another week left. Then its back to the grind! Wake up early….and all the rest that follows
Ammu will sure be happy to be going back to school. But waking up early? She’s been having a whale of a time at her chitti’s palce during the vacations. No matter what I do or tell, she refuses to go to bed even by 11 pm. Thats the time she’s her active best … with everyone else back from work. The post dinner sessions are fun.. she is in a really excited fun mood n no one wants to dampen her spirits!! So its been ‘late to bed and late to rise’ for quite sometime now:D
I’ve had a relaxed time too.. at my sisters place
Also, took driving classes which was a long pending in my ‘to do’ list! Have just got the hang of it… will need a lot more practice to actually drive on B’lore roads!!
We’ll be back to the pavilion home
by this weekend and I hope things/routines will fall in place
And yes… the books need to be wrapped, labels need to be stuck and details written down
She’s so excited about this! I hope she’ll be in her favorite teacher’s class and will have all her dear friends with her in the same section. More so for Adi! In fact, keeping fingers crossed …
B’day + Surprise Gift = Sooper happy!!
My entry for this weeks theme ‘Happy’ at Thursday Challenge!
I was thinking of giving it a miss this time as I had done one on the same theme a couple of weeks back! But then I thought why miss the chance of feeling happy all over again looking at some happy happy pics in the archive
Finally decided on this one
Ammu happily riding her bicycle , a surprise gift from me on her b’day in 2010!! The bicycle had been kept at home since a week, covered with bedsheets n all. And an ironing board kept in front of it. Whenever she got curious, we managed to tell her something or the other! We did manage to give her a huge surprise on the D-day!! The look on her face was priceless
Wordless Wednesday!
ETA [20/5/11]:
Here’s the remainder of the actual pic. This was taken by sis2 on her trip to London
I clipped off this part of the pic to make it truly wordless! Then it occured that maybe a guessing game would be nice
But I see there have been very few takers
Thanks guys for trying!! I hope you will find the following info interesting
Tiny Tidbits :)
Sis1 in an attempt to prepare Adi for the new teacher in LKG…
Sis: You will be in a new class.
Adi: Ok
Sis1: You can make new friends.
Adi: Ok
Sis1 *now coming to the most imp part*: You will have a new class teacher
Adi *thinking* Oh! Sis heaving a sigh of relief thinking he got it
Adi*excitedly*: New J maam!! ![]()
Sis1:
truly worried now coz he says he doesnt want to go back to school. She suspects it because he knows that his fave maam wont be his class teacher now. J maam was his class teacher in prenursery whom he stuck too always..

Have a geat weekend folks!!
Cute buddies!!
For this weeks theme ‘Pets’ at Thursday Challenge.
The theme brought back so many lovely memories… of Guddu n Rocky
Guddu was our first pet ever. As kids were pertified of dogs! He came to us, in 1999 or was it 2000, under quite unusual circumstances. Made us feel that he was certainly destined to be our companion. The day sis2′s friend brought him to us… begging us to keep him, we could not refuse …he was so cute n cuddly. And though we had no clue how to care for a pet, we had insisted that we keep this one and dad had finally given in. He was the one who who kept my sis company when the other two of us were away from home for studies… kept me company when I was at home pregnant with Ammu. But most of all, it was dad who pampered him a lot and took utmost care of him as he would a child! And dad it was who he stayed with …giving the most joy and companionship, in fact the only one when all the 3 of us came away from home.
Sadly though, we had to part with him and entrust him to be taken care of by a family known to us, when dad came over to stay with us to take care of Ammu. We sometimes got to see him on our visits to Mysore.. but that also stopped gradually. Dad, though, was in constant touch and knew that our Guddu was unwell for quite sometime. He knew we wouldnt bear to see him in that condition and so discouraged us from going to see him. Now, its almost a year since Guddu passed away … on the 28th this month last year
But some of the special episodes with Guddu always remain close to us and their memory never fails to bring on a smile

One day in 2007, the doggy crazy BIL1 surprised us all by bringing Rocky to us unannounced! Though we were quite unprepared or even reluctant to have a pet due to various constraints on time n space n energy, we were happy to see him… happy in a way that only lil pups can make us
But then he stayed with us only for a few months and then we had to give him up, when we realized that we could not take care of him in the best possible manner given our circumstances. Sis2 was pregnant with Adi and we figured it would have been difficult for us to manage both the baby and the growing pup
Ammu was very attached to Rocky and when I was trying to prepare her mind for this, she confidently said ‘ No problem mamma…You take care of Rocky n i’ll take care of paapa’ !! Adi was the paapa still in the tummy! I can recall it as if it happened just yesterday..
But we did send him off … in Ammu’s absence of course! … with someone who had a big house and huge lawns… where we believed Rocky would grow up happily
She understood and never threw a tantrum… my angel

And now… both Ammu n Adi are very fond of dogs. Ammu feels hurt by the fact that we say poda Maniya to a stray near Sis2′s home, whom we feed biscuits most of the days. Says he may feel bad! She told this to me one day at bed time .. just recently
I had to explain to her that it is meant in a fun way and that Mani means a Pearl or a Bead. Only then did her agitation subside!!
And… Adi walks by strays n says he wants to take one home!! Wondering when the father-son duo might surprise her shock her, Sis1 tells me ‘keep one bedroom in your home free for me. I might walk in anytime’
She likes dogs.. but doesnt want to be made responsible for one at this stage
P.S:I’m glad about this theme… if not for it I probably would not have written this down !!
Dear Mummy..
I so wish you were here…
She loves him, adores him to bits. She fights with him, bickers with him over TV time and the remote. She fights us all… for him… fiercely protects him
we’re not allowed to say anything to him or about him even in passing that she considers inappropriate. In a way she’s devoted to him
She sheds copious tears when he has to go to Mysore.. and tells that he should never ever go again….
Its wonderful and heart warming to see this granpa – granddaughter relationship
And at each instance, even as my heart fills up with pride n joy, I’m only reminded of you… of how she would have loved you so… of all that happiness…the lil joys. Had you been here ..with us. Oh how i miss you! Miss seeing and experiencing the lovely bond between her and you!!
It kinda hurts to know that she cannot even relate to you.. for you werent around when she came into this world!! Oh mummy, i wish..i wish you were here… more than ever… for her.. for you… for us!!!
Family trip – day 3
Day 3 was marked by the visit to Cauvery Nisargadhama. It is an island surrounded by the river Cauvery. The lush vegetation, mostly bamboos and the cool waters make for an interesting and inviting picnic spot!!
As we had to reach Bangalore by evening, we decided to just go straight to the spot where we could get into the waters
there were lots of monkeys for company.. actually scaring people around. Most had to hold sticks/logs to ward them off
The waters were shallow and we could easily move around. In fact it tempted us so much that we went and got wet through n through
inspite of being in jeans
We left Nisargadhama by 12 pm… reached Mysore around 2 pm, in time for lunch…
After lunch, we headed for B’lore
Reached home around 7 pm … a little exhausted bodily but the spirits, a whole lot excited and rejuvenated!!
P.S: Phew! Finally done with it. This trip update… pending since a month! Uploading and formatting the pics is a bit daunting but … such posts without the pics is no fun at all. And to just select the pics from the lot has been the most difficult part
Hope you enjoyed looking at them!
